Dealing With The Cold

Really, has it been that long? Almost 2 weeks since I last wrote a personal blog post. So how are you lovely people keeping, are you enjoying the snow if you’ve had any? With the plummeting temperatures I have found it very hard to keep on track. Exercise has slowed somewhat too, although the kids have kept me busy out on the snow with their sledges. Luckily I have only fallen over twice without any injuries. [Read more...]

Another pound down

scalesIt’s been a few days since I last blogged, so how are you guys doing? This week has been bit of a hit and miss for me. I have stuck to healthy eating and exercising but haven’t been feeling 100% myself.

I was hoping to do you a post on clean eating but, decided that it would be best to leave it for next week as a little research is needed and having a fuzzy head didn’t think today was the best of days to do it.

So not being able to make my weekly weigh in session tomorrow I found another group nearby this morning and dragged myself along, feeling a little low I wasn’t expecting much as I never lose weight on star week and even more so after my 3 pound loss last week, so when I stepped on the scales and the lady said I’d loss a pound I was ecstatic :-) [Read more...]

Surviving the weekend

Well with the weekend finally out the way, kids back to school and routines being restored its 100% focus back on ME hehe. If only life was that simple. Saturday night’s treat meal was well and truly received with great satisfaction, although I enjoyed it, it’s not how I want to be eating every day.

weekend_breakfastAfter a long Sunday morning lie in, I had a big hearty breakfast which kept me going for most of the day, and a late tea which was cooked by my other half. Doing his first ever slow cooker meal it was tasty and satisfying. [Read more...]

The First Weigh In Of the New Year

scalesI’m not sure if it happens to the most of us or just me but the days leading up to weigh in day I dread. Regardless of whether I have been good or not you just don’t know what to expect, and especially as Christmas and New Year’s eve has just ended. Well on this occasion I can say the outcome was much appreciated with a loss of 3 whole pounds… Woo Hoo!!

Although at the beginning of this week I set a goal of 7 pound loss in the next six weeks this has now put me ahead of the game, but as you know anything can happen. [Read more...]

Feeling The Pain And Feeling Good

It seems like we have only just finished the weekend and again its almost Friday. It’s the weekends that I find the hardest especially with having an early Saturday morning weight in. I tend to use Saturdays as a treat day.

Whether I lose or gain at the scales I tend to relax things a little just for the one day. I once listened in on a weight loss seminar, and what was interesting was them telling peeps to have one cheat meal a week, it tricks the body and therefore makes it work a little harder. Now if you do decide to do this you are doing so at your own risk lol.

So yes only 2 days till my weight in, and I’m not really sure how I’m feeling about it at the moment. I have been in my eyes, very good with the food decisions that I have made so far this week. Having gained a pound over the Christmas week I would like to see a little loss Saturday. [Read more...]

Make exercise part of your healthy living plan

pink_dumbbellsExercise has always been part of my lifestyle although it’s somewhat sporadic at times, seeing that I am on a mission to turn my life around this year committing a little more time to exercising was high on my agenda. As of today I have challenged myself and you to completing 30 minutes of exercise each day for 30 days.

Remember don’t start any extreme exercise regime without first consulting your Doctor. For many, exercise might be something new therefore it’s important to seek medical advice first and then gradually build up your routine.

Over the years we create many habits some good and some, well not so good. Exercise should be one of the good habits we create. Although some people will say it takes 30 days of doing something consistently to create a habit you will need a little willpower too.

Now willpower is a tough one to crack it’s like a whirlpool that drains away each day and then gets replenish at night. We rely on it a lot and sometimes gets let down by it because we don’t see result as quickly as we would like. To overcome this we need to rely less on willpower and put a plan of action in place. Start As You Mean To Carry On

Well with the start of a brand new year there is no time like the present to set yourself a few small goals to get to the big one. So I’m gonna start by setting myself a small goal of losing 7lbs by Valentines Day.

Yes that’s like 6 weeks away but a slow steady loss of a pound a week will get me there, I know that its possible to do it in a month but I thought its best not to put to much pressure on myself, it will be a bonus if I do it in less time

So the last few days I got back in the zone, I’m on it 100% and I want to make this my year to get to target. What is my target? Well I’m currently wearing a size 16 having moved on from a size 18/20 but I’m not happy, I will be when I’m wearing a size12.

And if I’m honest with myself this will probably mean that I would need to lose another 2-3 stone (42pounds). I just so happen to be one of the unlucky few that need to lose massive amounts of weight before I shift into the next dress size. [Read more...]
